about us
our guiding philosophy is
“nature is our pedagogy”
We believe that nature provides a unique and powerful catalyst for healing, growth and transformation.
Our purpose is to be the facilitator of this.
As the Director of Posh Pony, a qualified counsellor, a mother and animal lover, Karen is passionate about connecting people with animals and nature to make magic happen.
From tiny little shifts to life-changing transformations, Karen has seen it all working in nature with her clients – young and old with all kinds of abilities. Using a person centred approach and evidence based therapies, she fosters personal growth, and supports clients to achieve greater self awareness. These shifts in perception empowers clients to facilitate long lasting, positive change.
Watching people relax, build their confidence, expand both self and external awareness, overcome anxiety, increase strength and resilience while participating in her therapy; these are the things that make Karen’s heart sing.
Karen has created a beautiful suburban farm environment at her premises in Kurnell, with a well-loved vege and flower garden, dogs, a cat and of course, Frank Zappa the horse and Alvin the pony.
welcome to
our suburban farm
Posh Pony was founded in 2012 as a suburban oasis. For the country to meet the city, for city people to get their feet on the ground, in the vege crop or in the stirrups. It’s a place of peace, to forget your worries and be present, in the moment.
We are a professional, reliable and well respected company with all required insurance, policies and procedures in place.
We’re very proud to have become an NDIS Registered Provider in 2021, a professional member of Animal-Assisted Services Australia and Karen as a qualified counsellor is a member of the Australian Counselling Association.
Karen Lincoln is the Founder and Director of Posh Pony. Over her 30 year career in children services and working with people and horses, she has gained many skills and learnt a lot from her studies and her clients. Her roles have included early childhood services and Outside of School Hours services, working with children with disabilities, a lifetime experience with horses including horse care, riding and horsemanship and has worked as a veterinary nurse and horse riding instructor.
Since 2012 when she founded Posh Pony, Karen has progressed to Equine Assisted Leaning in 2020, seeing the transformational changes that clients experience when they’re in a supported environment with a horse and a goal. Upon completing her formal studies in 2025 and becoming a qualified therapist, Karen is able to offer Equine & Nature Assisted Counselling Therapy to her clients. With plans to continue studying, Karen is dedicated to learning and advancing her skills.

Frank Zappa is our loveable thoroughbred at 16hh. He started life as a racehorse but was too slow around the track so became a show jumper before graduating to a therapy horse. His beautiful nature and handsome looks make him very popular with our clients. His gentle and quiet disposition are perfect for his therapy work. You’re guaranteed to fall in love with Mr Zappa.
Alvin is our cheeky pony. He is a Welsh Section A X Australian Miniature Pony and stands just 10.2hh. He has been part of the Posh Pony family since 2013, visiting children’s hospitals, working from Posh Pony HQ as a therapy pony and giving rides. He has touched the lives of so many people and brought so much joy to everyone he meets, he is just incredible. He’s also sassy and breaks into the house and feed shed often. He just wants to be fed and loved and has so much love to give in return.
Rounding out the Posh Pony family are Scooter & Sky, our beautiful, patient Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Prinz our forever cuddly cat as well as our random furry visitors that pop in unannounced.
