Professional Practice, Program Development & Business Consulting

I founded Posh Pony in 2012 following my own experience as a parent of a child with neuro-diversity, where I saw firsthand the powerful benefits that animals, horses and natural environments can have for regulation, confidence and connection. I’ve worked with children and families for over 30 years across early and middle childhood and adolescent settings, and have spent more than 40 years owning and caring for horses and animals, including time working as a veterinary nurse and studying animal care.

I believe this is deeply important work in today’s world, and I am often approached by allied health and related professionals seeking guidance on how to thoughtfully integrate animal-assisted and nature-based approaches into their own services. In response, I now offer consultancy to support qualified practitioners to develop ethical, structured and neurodiversity-affirming programs, and to contribute to the growth and integrity of this emerging therapeutic field.

In response to the demand, I am now providing consulting services for qualified allied health, mental health and related professionals, as well as organisations seeking to ethically integrate equine-assisted, animal-assisted and nature-based approaches into their practice and programs.

This consultancy supports practitioners, established service providers and organisations to design and deliver services or programs that are developmentally informed, evidence-aligned and neurodiversity-affirming. Our work is grounded in lived practice experience building and sustaining therapeutic programs within equine and nature-based environments.

Consulting may include support with program design, session structure, service models, risk management, scope of practice considerations and the ethical integration of animals and outdoor environments within therapeutic or support settings. It may also be an opportunity for support to develop your own ideas and style, brainstorm and workshop strategies to develop your own brand.

The focus is on creating services that are clinically thoughtful, neurodiversity-affirming and operationally sustainable – supporting practitioners to expand their offerings while maintaining professional integrity and clear ethical frameworks.

Counsulting is available to degree-qualifed or formally accredited professionals or organisations developing or refining equine-assisted, animal-assisted or nature-based therapeutic or developmentally informed animal interaction services. We want to help you bring animals and nature into other businesses and organisations where they will have a positive effect on clients, residents, staff or patients.
